Back from my daughter's wedding!!
Wow, what a great time. We got down to Florida Thursday night, the wedding was Sunday on the cruise ship, they went on their honeymoon that afternoon, and we got home late Sunday night--exhausted but elated.

As far as the bachelor party went, we ended up doing an impromptu beer drinking and cigar smoking get together in the hotel bar Friday night, and it wasn't really even a bachelor party as my wife and a couple other of gals were there. It turned into an anecdotal storytime of our daughter growing up (she spent the day at Busch Gardens and was exhausted and wasn't there, so dad could embellish a little more, lol) and a celebration of both families and the bride and groom. It was relaxed, stress-free, and an absolute blast.

My daughter was a lovely bride, and her sisters made great bridesmaids. She married a very good and decent guy, and it was a wonderful time for all.

I've never felt so happy, and yet in some ways, sad (in a good way) at the same time.

4. Thank you!!
And as far as romatic love goes, the guy that finally lands you will almost be as lucky as the guy that married my daughter yesterday.

Lovely daughter marries good man. Father of the Bride syndrome is bound to take hold. :hi:

6. Love-filled? Yes. Stress free?
Are you kidding, lol? The stress hit Saturday morning, and didn't end until we walked in the door last night.

5. Sounds wonderful
I get to do the same in June when my daughter gets married. I look forward to it but I know I'm going to be a basket case at the same time - funny what kids will do to you emotionally.

Congratulations to your daughter and her lucky husband, and to you.

And it brought tears to my eyes yesterday. I can't imagine how much of a blubbering old fool I'll be when the last daughter gets married.

9. YAY! I'm so glad it went well!
I was wondering what ended up happening with the bachelor party after your post last week. That sounds like it was awesome. I bet the groom felt like such a part of your family after that.

Thanks for letting us know how it went. Congratulations to all!

Personally, I'm glad that the casino/strip club thing never materialized. It was a lot more fun the way it turned out.

12. Some things I will keep off the internet...
Nothing against you guys, but I want to keep my family pics to myself. I don't want them to end up somehow getting harassed by some Freepers because I post here.

I hope you all understand. Maybe if there's a meetup in St. Louis, I will bring them to share for all who show up.

How's that for an incentive for a St Louis meetup?

I haven't posted pics of my family either. I sent some via PM to some folks that I trust, but other than that...

13. Mixed bag, ain't it dad?
I felt the same way.
The wedding and reception came off without a hitch, pretty much.
miz t. and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but the flight home was kinda quiet.
Little girl's grown and gone.

Now...wait until the grandkid shows up.

26. Great story, thanks for sharing. Glad to hear it went so well.
I can imagine it's a bittersweet transition to watch your kid get married. Whew....

I'm still trying to get my brain around the fact my oldest kid, who is only 12, just went to his very first school dance and actually danced with 4 girls! ;)

It's weird how fast the years roll by, isn't it??

Congrats, again, and many blessings to all.
