My boyfriend's cat and chicken hate each other
I kid you not, Tombo told me how he is constantly having to pull apart his oldest cat, a grand dame Himalayan long-hair named Tibet - she's fourteen and maybe weighs 7 pounds - and his old chicken Grey Girl who is a pretty mean old chick. They get into hassles on the back porch of his farm house. I asked him, so Tom, what does a fight between a cat and a chicken look like? He said Tibet pummels the chicken with her paws (she had been declawed before Tom picked her up at the pound ten years ago) and Grey Girl goes into a frenzy trying to peck Tibet's head. And all the while, they are both "screaming at the top of their lungs".

I tell you, I just had to laugh imagining it. :7

Grey Girl never laid eggs - Tom claims it's because "she's a vindictive little bitch". :D

10. Well, as long as they don't kill each other
My friend's pet chicken was snatched from the arms of his daughter by their pet rotweiler and eaten. Your boyfriend's chicken seems to hold it's own against the cat though.

13. Tom has several cats
they have always ignored the chickens - so has Tibet, really, until now - my guess is they are just two bickering old ladies. :7

14. For Some Reason
ya gotta watch the pet dog when you are holding the pet chicken. We have a German Shephard and several poultry, including a chicken and a turkey. The dog leaves the birds alone when they are all on the ground. The turkey even attacks the dog and the dog remains reasonably calm. However, if someone is holding the chicken or the turkey, the dog goes ape trying to snatch the bird out of the person's arms. I always have to warn people about this, because they see the animals getting along and assume no problem. Next thing you know the dog is snapping at a flapping chicken being held by someone who thought all was cool.

15. huh......these chickens are not really pets
no way would they let you hold them. And when Skittles, Tom's 26 pound black cat (yes, my namesake) sniffed Grey Girl's butt, she back kicked him good in the face with one of her big feet. No one really messes with Grey Girl except Tibet; they just recently started getting in to it.

LOL, I remember the only time I did pick up one of the chickens - it had gotten itself trapped among the sheep in the barn and was hysterical. Chickens feel very strange in your hands; they feel very fragile but are actually very, very strong.
