Hey, I heard your mom was 14 and your (stand-in) dad was 40. My daughter claims that there's a biblical reference for this, and her her English teacher is apparently writing a book about it.

However, I was a religious studies major at college and there is not any reference to Mary and Joseph's age in the Bible. The legends and paintings made up those ages. Mary probably was 14 because that is when Jewish girls got married back then and so was Joseph probably, but later legends say he was older.

My daughter said her English teacher is writing a book of fiction putting Mary and Joseph in modern-day times based on their supposed ages (14 and 40...her interpretation of his interpretation) and supposedly other revelations (sorry for the pun) in the Bible that would be somewhat incongruous with society's norms today.
