If you were going to visit the UK and see 5 things, what would they be? :shrug:

6. Yes, it's friday here!

If I had time, I would see:

1. The Lake District up north in Cumbria (take wet weather gear).

2. Dinorwig hydro-electric plant in north Wales. It's entirely carved out underground, and is very impressive.

3. The Peak District in Derbyshire. There is a trail you can walk for about 10 miles alongside the river Wast Water, which is very picturesque.

4. Warwick Castle.

5. The various sights in London: The Palace of Westminster, the London Eye, all the usual things. You can't be an American tourist in Britain without doing that. ;)

These suggestions are influenced by what I have seen. I have not visited all the places of interest in the UK.
