Poll question: Official DU Favorite Vacation Destination Thread Poll :)
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 07:12 PM by Catchawave
Just wondering how *we* like to spend our DU Vacays. As for me, I LOVE NYC, and my hubby LOVES Fishing trips to Alaska. How different are we (psst..I'm an animal rights activist too..oy..?) But here's my little poll, hope you play :hi:

On Edit: Please share, if you'd like, details too !

1. My daughter and I camp every year.
It's cheap and there are many places close by. If I can get a few days off in a row we just pack up and go.

As I keep hinting on DU.....for a National Meet-up :)

I have never had a bad time in Vegas, ever.

3. Gotta be Beachy...
I love the waves, the sand, the sun, the bathing suits..... Ah! Pure Bliss! B-)

If money is no object, then I choose anywhere in Europe. Preferably spring or fall. History and art, and great food and people saying such interesting things to you. Or at least it sounds so. :D

My *Home* destination poll thingy line, was not based on vacaying at Betty Ford. But should be included on the "theme" destination line?

Whoa, that made sense....heh.

11. I love it all...
Ok, I'm not into skiing, thought I'd like to try cross-country. Give me the White Mountains. Give me theme parks. Give me Rehoboth Beach or its wilder neighbor, Assateague Island. I'd love to visit other countries, and I think I'd really enjoy a trip to Pittsburgh.

And if there's a place most people have never heard of, there's a good chance I'd like to see that, too...just because.

13. No snow but other than that I'll try nearly anything.
I like going camping, I like visiting people, I once took a week off just to hang out at home and decompress (I had a really stressful job then.) Vacation is good, no matter what I do, because at least I'm not working.

28. Me too
My tastes in vacation range from catching baseball games at various ballparks, to going to airshows, to the whole themepark thing, to roadtripping to see the countryside.

Only thing I have not done yet, that I would like to, is go on a Cruise.

Didn't you watch 20/20 tonight? Especially not Carnival Cruise Lines! I already didn't care much for Carnival because of Kathy Lee Gifford. Wonder is she will go on air crying over the people who have been lost at sea.

38. I've been most places
but I really really really want to go to Jamaica. Or Trinadad. Australia. The West African coast.

I want to go back to Hong Kong and see what changes have been wrought since the changeover. I can't believe a change of government could change those people.

Khash.

42. Away from the things of man
I always loved that phrase from Joe Versus the Volcano.

We love to camp but not in regular campgrounds. Remote wilderness camping with no people, bathrooms, showers, phones, roads or anything else to remind us of civilisation. We're going over President's Day and I can't wait! :bounce: I haven't been for a few years. :bounce:

because it's a 3-way tie for favorite vacation between the beach, Europe, & cruising. :) With any luck, I can someday do all three at the same time!! :)
