I went in for emergency surgery, so I had nothing with me- he ran to the closest Target and got me a three pack...size 12...I wore a size 7 at the time in undies!

His thinking, She wears a size 10 pants, and she'll be sore from the surgery (appendectomy) so I get them one size larger...not knowing that women's underwear is sized completely differently from pants/skirts. I laughed, they went up to my boobs and didn't come close to fitting my scrawny legs- but they were very comfortable post surgery on the belly. :-)

FYI boys--underwear sizing goes like this
small= 5
med=6
large=7
x-large=8

check her drawer first, buy the most common size in there- a mistake could be seen as insensitive, no matter which direction you go...
