so while i have the chance (ha) here are my few words of unsolicited advice: dont read the news (unless you really are a glutton) especially when youre feeling down and keep posting anytime you feel like it

6. Stop watching the news.

I put myself on a "news blackout" every now and then because it is so depressing. Now, I limit myself to 30 minutes of local news and 30 minutes of national news per day. I have realized that I cannot directly change the world. But, I can change it indirectly. I can be a compassionate and ethical person. I can but my trust in science and nature. I can perform random acts of kindness. Don't scour the news for ideas--look at your life for ideas.
