1. turkeys are not ugly
Get them in the sunlight and study the play of light on their feathers. Turkeys are beautiful.

It is difficult for birds to be ugly because of their feathers but I suppose Black Vultures might be considered among the ugly birds. They are ugly to the eye, at first glance, but their friendly personality is such that they change in front of you from ugly to comfortable.

Can't really think of a truly ugly bird. Many are ugly as chicks but most all are handsome as adults.

4. Agree.
But they are needed as nature's housecleaners.

5. I had a pet vulture once ...
Actually he was quite handsome, in a dignified kind of way. He had beautiful amber-brown eyes, and eyelashes (that you noticed more because of his bald head).

but I'm not sure. Any bird who can embarass Dubya is a friend of mine, no matter if they're ugly, stupid, or not.
