Taking Things Too Seriously
Some people take things a little too seriously. I was just watching the Ellen Degeneres Show. She was doing the second installment of her sports desk, which she did for the first time last week.

On last week Ellen decided to explain the teams who were in the playoffs and pick the teams she thought would win. Ellen explained that she could not use the NFL logos of the team in that the NFL was very particular about how the logos were used so she would be making up some logos. For the Bears she used Yogi Bear. For the Panther she used the Pink Panther. For the Seahawks she used some type of eagle/hawk looking bird with a sailor like hat. Finally for the Steelers she used the Hamburglar. Get it hamburglar steals hamburgers and the Steelers. Remember this is all being done in fun.

This week Ellen read the emails of some of the people who wrote in concerning last weeks Sports Desk. One of the people who wrote in was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The letter from a person who seemed to me to be a small bit angry. The person said that the Steeler name had come from the town being populated by many people who worked in steel mills not as a result of the town being a town full of thieves. I am sorry, but I think this person took things at least a little bit too seriously. Considering that Ellen is a comedian and that she had already told people she could not use the real NFL logos it seems like everybody would have just had a chuckle.

1. Boy, you are so right about that one.
I have found as I age, gracefully I might add, that people with that much anger are toxic to be around.

Get over it. It was some lighthearted fun. Personally, I think she is an absolute hoot. I have been a big fan of hers from her early standup days. She did this bit about how single people ate standing up over the sink that had me crying I was laughing so hard.

2. Maybe I'm not a big enough Steelers fan
since I just want them to win the Super Bowl but don't really care about them any other time; but I think that's frickin' hilarious! You're right. Some people need to lighten up.

I will admit that I did not quite get it, but for the most part I was laughing the whole time. There was just something about it that was just funny. So fill me in here did he really bring the dog to the pound or was he just joking?

13. Uh...she play bites and I am training her out of that.
I don't wanna go into the workings of "the joke." It's really a dead horse at this point, as you'll see if you read the whole thread...or even part of it.
