Voice Actors
Watching disney movies over and over (and over and over and over ) I'm starting to have trouble recognizing certain characters cause I recognize the voices from other films.
Like the old dog in The Fox and the Hound, every time I turn my head away and hear him talk, I expect to look back and see the tax collector from Robin Hood. The porcupine is piglet. Too weird.
No more Disney. Please. PLEASE.

Oh and every time Tod the Fox says something I'm surprised he's not a short, balding weird man yelling at horses (Mickey Rooney was in the Black Stallion, my sisters favorite show when she was young)

1. That's b/c they're not reall voice actors.
They're big name actors who just happen to be doing voices for Disney. Real voice actors are people like Billy West who can actually communicate various devices of characterization through voice only.

2. Or John Billingslea
or Steve Blum, Mellisa Charles, Wendee Lee, Lara Jill Miller, Joshua Seth, Derek Stephen Prince, Lisa Oritz and so many more.

14. There's V/O Beyond Seiyuu!
Personally, I think Blum is over-rated - he sounds *exactly* the same in the everything ... which is okay, but that's not great acting. In some things it works better than others

I think my favorite non-seiyuu American (besides Billy West, who is amazing) is Jon Benjamin, though he too often sounds exactly the same in everything he does (though he can do different voices).

9. Or the grandmammy of them all, June Foray, who
was Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Natasha, as well as countless other characters on other shows.

15. How about the granddaddy of them all.
Mel Blanc. He did more cartoon characters than you can count.

6. Yeah,
but there's a difference between "voice acting" and a "voice actor." :P

12. There's something funny goin' on

That's probably my favorite Disney movie. As a kid I never really comprehended on a conscious level that there was a bizarre mix of Southern US and British accents in the film. Peter Ustinov was hilarious as Prince John. :D
