In 4th year German, the teacher was reading this story auf Deutsch. It was about a cabin boy who asked the Captain if something could be lost if you knew exactly where it was.
The Captain said, of course not, how can something be lost if you know exactly where it is?
The cabin boy said 'then your silver teapot is not lost. I know exactly where it is. It fell over the side of the ship half an hour ago and it is now at the bottom of the ocean.
I found this to be hysterical and burst out laughing. Apparently I was the only one in the class who understood it, and I found that to be even funnier, but then when the teacher read it a few more times and defined some more of the words, the rest of the class understood it too, and they were like "wtf was so funny? That's not very funny." Well, I thought it was.
