War On Shoelaces
Edited on Sat Jul-26-03 12:52 PM by trof
From a thread on GD:
Are you sick of the "war on TERROR"

I am just fuming every single time I hear the term "War on Terror". No war will ever EVER stop "terror", ever, never ever ever ever ever ever ever forever!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=83523&mesg_id=83523&page=#top

Yes, I AM sick of the war on terror. I think we should declare war on something real and tangible. Something we can get a grip on. That's why I'm declaring War On Shoelaces.

Loafers should be the most restrictive footwear in existence.
No socks, EVER!
Flip-flops would be better.
Barefoot is BEST.
Imagine what we'd be doing for foot fetishists.

Rip those shoelaces out, NOW!
Burn 'em.
Who's with me?

on edit: If you'd like to contribute to The War On Shoelaces, feel free to send a check for whatever you can afford. I'm trying to get this started on a shoestring.
(Oh god, I am sooooooo bad)

1. EEK!

I am so glad her legs aren't spread apart...

Hmmm, shoelaces and zippers... What other things are used to join things together? (And where's Richard Dawson to announce it?)

2. um, no
i find the trend of sandals/flop rather annoying.

the sounds of mutiple people scuffing along, dragging the heels of their sandals/flops/whatevers drives me buggy, screams 'i'm too lazy to walk like an evolved human'

and geez, guys, if your gonna wear flops, try using those nail clippers. nobody wants to see your talons.

4. and when
Did sandals and socks become popular?

When I was in school, sandals and socks was grounds for a beating and a month of ostracisation.

5. sandals and socks
Part of the midwestern, snowbird, geezer costume.
Thin black nylon anklets are preferred.
They contrast nicely with the chartreuse, gummy-bear, see-through plastic sandals.
