Why would anyone want to watch a movie ......
that is described as disturbing---"Hostel".
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/684

I have always loved a good horror movie. Something suspenseful that puts me on the edge of my chair. Something scary enough to make me jump a little with surprise. Something that would make me hide my face behind my husband's shoulder with one eye still staring at the screen.

But, I don't want to be nauseated, disgusted, or disturbed by it. These new "disturbing" movies must me a republican thing.....

2. Exactly. People were taken out by paramedics? Let's see it!
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 05:12 PM by tjdee
I think these movies are basically made for teenage boys and middle aged guys. And young guys.

Basically, men.

edited to add that I've heard that yes indeed, people were removed from the theater by paramedics from this film, as it was THAT disturbing.

3. Hitchcock had it right

19. It looks like "Hostel"
is going to make "The Ring" look pale in comparison as far as terror goes.

20. Horror, by definition, is disturbing
hence the difference between Horror and Terror.

Hitchcock is terror

Tobe Hooper's original TCM was horror

21. Republican or not, that movie looks nauseating.
I love a good scary movie, and can tolerate some gore, but I hate meaninglessly sadistic films, like "The Devil's Own", etc.

Also, I have pretty much hated every single piece of misanthropic shite that Quentin Tarantino's name has been attached to.

This is not a horror film, it's porn.

If you want to get off on it, that's your prerogative, but please don't try to pass this off as "horror".

22. The Tarantinoing of America continues
I don't think it's a "Republican thing," but I must confess to having no desire to see movies with this level of violence and gore. It seems he tries to outdo himself with each new movie.

To each his/her own, however.
