Trend Watchers Share Predictions For 2006 (sounds like a shitty year)
<snip>

With the new year about to begin, it's time to upgrade your electronics, reprogram your TiVo, juice up your music collection, restyle your wardrobe and mark your calendar with all the most-anticipated movies.

In fashion, designers say look for a return to preppy, collegiate styles, with upturned collars, argyle sweaters and tiny embroidered logos from the 1980s. Waistlines will head north to a more natural place. :eyes:

On the electronics scene, the iPod will remain the must-have device. One electronics writer said there will be massive growth in downloadable video and TV offerings. And satellite radio competitors XM and Sirius are expected to offer even more programming choices.

At the movies, "Superman Returns" is already generating buzz, with Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor and Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and hunky newcomer Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel. It hits theaters in June. "The Da Vinci Code" is sure to be a hot ticket in May. A spate of sequels is slated for 2006 release, including "X-Men 3," "Mission Impossible 3," "Jackass 2" and "Scary Movie 4." :eyes: :eyes:

Entertainment insiders tell the Associated Press they're anticipating fresh new sounds from Rhymefest, a protege of Kanye West, and a new record and movie from rap duo OutKast. They expect reggaeton to add Latin flavors to classic hip-hop, and that the Killers will continue to make news in rock and fashion.

TiVos will be in heavy use when "The Sopranos" makes its long-awaited return to HBO in March. Much anticipated, too, is the return of "The Chappelle Show" on Comedy Central in the spring.

1. protege of Kanye West
Does that mean that Kanye gets to take some of the money that the record company left?

Secondly-DAMN! I thought I was going to be a "protege of Kanye West" :eyes:

9. It'll pass my friend...
It'll pass... Sort of like a kidney stone.

Hey, if anyone needs me I'll be up in the mountain cave with my
record collection and button fly jeans.

11. So we won't be seeing you in any picture threads with
an Izod (with "tinier for 2006" alligator) shirt, with it's collar turned up? Maybe a preppy little yellow v-neck sweater vest over it, too? I can't wait for the Richie Cunningham look to come back into style.
:sarcasm:

8. When is someone going to get creative and...
Make a movie with a "2" at the end of the title?

It would be interesting to watch everyone saying.... "'Snakes on Planes 2'! Dang! The first one
must've been good and I missed it! Better see this one!"

Funny! Huh?

:7

You don't think so?

:o

Well, I guess you had to be there... *sigh*

13. LOL!
I'm *still* wearing mine! What do ya know... Wear something long enough, it comes
back in!

I guess I'll put them up on ebay. ;)

I paid for them.)"

14. I wore them for years instead of sandals.
They're very comfortable. I predict sales of socks will plummet in 2006. ;)
