I'm going to Syriana; Need Advice
I'm excited about seeing this movie but...I can't follow a plot line in an average movie! And I hear this movie has a very complex plot.

Any tips or advice for me from those of you who have seen it? How can I keep this movie from just being a jumble of images and action?

1. I found it very complex and dark
but I enjoyed it tremendously in a weird kind of way.

I suggest you read this review before you go:

2. That was a good review
I think it will help a lot. I looked up all the actors I didn't know on Google images. Thanks so much, Christa!

3. If I was ever going to write a screenplay for a movie, Syriana would be it
I'm going to own that DVD someday

4. I don't think it was so much complex as...
it made you think. They didn't spoon feed you who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. You had to make that distinction on your own (if you could even do that). It's complex much like how life is complex, if you go and see it with a friend expect a good conversation afterwords

try not to concentrate on the scenery till after you've absorbed that import, move as well past the george clooney/matt damon hollywood elements, cause they are making a great contribution to an ensemble piece. but if you've read the headlines, then you'll understand this important film

7. Thanks, everybody
I saw the film tonight and it was fantastic. I wasn't too lost because the article and looking up the actors really helped. There was only one place I was completely baffled and that was when Clooney got tortured by Massawi. Later, though, I figured that out and I'm not so sure we were supposed to understand that as it happened, anyway.

Like Mr. Scorpio, I'm going to own this DVD someday. At the very least, I want to watch it at home when I can play, replay, etc., to see the elements I missed the first time around.

9. Good then!
It still bothers me in a weird way - I think I missed a lot whilst trying to understand it - I need to see it again.
