1. Our neighborhood is quiet too......
But the house next door is vacant (in escrow) and the house across the street has been torn down.......

And the kids in the neighborhood have not been out at all today....

Plus the day was very overcast with a somber feel to it....

Maybe they're saving their strength for New Year's Eve?

Hope your day was nice, though.....

6. thanks...we had a quiet day for the most part...but we did spend time with
our son and his newlywed wife... that was nice!

May you too have had as much of a nice day as possible, despite the bush's administration's taking away so much of what is joyful and meaningful to most: PEACE and JOY!

2. Thank heaven!
The girls who are renting the house next door are out of town. Thank you, Lord! Thank you! Blessed quiet, oh blessed peace and quiet.

I have spent so much energy adapting to their constant noise that I hadn't realized how truly exhausting it is to put up with them all day.

Please, Lord, let them win the lottery and move far, far away. Thank you, Lord!

8. as i was writing my original post, i too thought of the night before
christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

as they used to say (and i don't hear it much anymore) looks like we were "on the same wave length"!

4. Sounds like our whole town had smoked turkey today.
Even all the dogs are triptophaned out. It's quiet save for the one obnoxious teen ager roaring around in circles trying to find somebody else out and about.
