4. Fuck that asshole!
You know he never served a day.
I live next to a base and have a family full of veterans. Wished I knew about it before it was locked-I have quite a few things to say to that SOB and the little ratbastard won't like a single bit of it.

7. I just copied and pasted that thread and sent it
to my brother. He's a vet so I can't wait to hear his reply on Christmas Day.

8. I wouldn't mind reading his reply.
Two of my brothers and I, not to mention many other relatives, are vets. That guy pissed me off.

13. I'm thinking about telling my dad about that answer tomorrow.
He's also a vet. If my grandfather were still alive I'd love to tell him. He'd go off.
He gave up a promising career for his country, gave up his knees, almost gave his feet and his life(he was a Ranger-knees were done for, almost lost his feet to frostbite and was a POW). That asshole seems to think that my grandfather didn't deserve a kind word for any of his actions. That pisses me off.
I'm sure while my dad served in SE Asia he was out trying to score. I'm sure that while my brother served his time overseas, he was bitching about Clinton. I don't believe that for one moment he ever served his country.
And while we're at it-I wonder if he has ever done a single thing for anyone around him, his community or his country. Maybe I didn't serve but I did spend five years working in a state mental institution. I spent five years keeping the undesirables that he didn't want in his neighborhood in a safe place. I received stiches, concussions, sprained wrists and ankles, a broken rib and a few scalpings(yes, they actually ripped large chunks of hair out of my head). I also almost lost my unborn child to that job(I was attacked while I was pregnant and went on bedrest). I worked w/ murderers, sex offenders and arsonists while that idiot sat in his La-Z-Boy w/ his feet propped up. I worked 16 hour days and I worked the halls by myself. Then I spent four years taking 9-1-1 calls from idiots like him. I sent him his police and kept him calm. I sent fire and kept him calm. I gave CPR instructions to idiots like him and helped people like him deliver their babies. And I consoled idiots like him when tragedy struck until someone could get on scene.
Maybe I didn't serve my country in the military but I've served my community many times over. I should have every right to call him an asshole.

12. Hiya CP! It's related to JFK . . .
"In 1963, Admiral Rickover . . . gave President John F. Kennedy a plaque inscribed with the Breton Fisherman's Prayer, which states "O God, the sea is so great and my boat is so small." President Kennedy treasured the plaque and kept it on his desk in the Oval Office. The original plaque is on display in the Museum at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston as part of its Oval Office exhibit."
