I had to make four dozen cookies for the elderly and infirmed tonight for delivery tomorrow. I have been at the mall Christmas shopping, yes I just started and yes I finished, and got home and just wanted the relax. Our Sunshine Club, at Christmas and Thanksgiving, puts together a full course meal for those less fortunate and delivers the meals and presents during the holiday week. I am a fringe member, I do what I am asked to do, but not much else. I am the only member with kids still in school and working full time. They realy don't expect a whole lot from me. Meaning I can bunk out when I want to or don't have the time. I was not looking forward to making the cookies tonight. My contribution would really not be missed as the group puts on this huge spread. I told my 16 yo son such and he said that he would do the baking. So here I sit typing on DU and my son is making cookies. His words to me:" God Mom, this is the least we can do. Maybe someone really looks forward to this and if everyone said they weren't going to bake or cook then these people might think that no one cares about them."
What a great kid!
