WTF happened on Morning Sedition this morning?

If anyone caught the very end of Morning Sedition this morning, do you know if that whole thing was a joke or not?

For those out of the loop, Marc Maron and Mark Riley were interviewing an Air America corporate shill who wished Maron the best of luck (the show's getting canceled) in a very patronizing tone. Maron then EXPLODED on the guy for his tone, but I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. The station abruptly cut to some advertisements, but then the corporate guy came back into the studio. Maron then went all-out nuts on the guy, ranting and raving like a lunatic, then the show ended abruptly again by cutting to some filler music rather than the normal outro.

Anyone else hear this? And if this really was a joke, Maron deserves an Oscar, because he sounded REALLY mad.

It sure sounded for real! But maybe it's preparation for some sort of climax tomorrow or dramatic announcement about Maron's future? Guess we'll just have to tune in tomorrow. Although Marc's supposed to be a guest on Majority Report tonight. Wonder what he'll say?

10. The original incident happened about 15-20 minutes before the end.

Then the first few minutes after the break, Maron mentions how mad he is, then the corporate guy comes back for the last couple of minutes where he and Maron shout at each other, then the show cuts off.

I swear this actually happened.

11. I wasn't a fan of Morning Sedition...

Back in May, my AAR affiliate sent Morning Sedition to 3AM spot from the 6AM spot, and put Stephanie Miller in there.

I've had far more fun listening to Stephanie, to be honest.

13. They just played a clip of this on the "Majority Report" - Maron's on now.

I'm not a Majority Report listener (due to time zones) but he sounded PISSED at the suit to me.

Morning Sedition was funny, intelligent, and not afraid to get silly or vaguely naughty. I would hate to hear that Maron ended up on a radio show where he wasn't allowed to use phrases like "neocon death cult" or "christofascist zombie brigade."

If I heard correctly this morning, Mark Riley will still be on Air America in this time slot, but I don't know anything else about the program that is to be.
