Notes of other ridiculousness:

Nirvana - Nevermind is at 17, while Nevermind the Bullocks is at 41.

*is happier than ever to not have looked inside Rolling Stone since sometime in 1997*

3. Of course, this list is totally definitive.
:eyes:

Who really gives a shit what Rolling Stone or anybody else in the media thinks are the greatest albums of all time? These things are subjective. I'm sick and fucking tired of these lists, it's always the same albums all the time. The last time somebody came out with a "greatest album" list that was enjoyable to read was Spin's April 1989 issue (Their pick for greatest album of all time was "Sex Machine" by James Brown; the greates single of all time was "it Takes Two" by Rob Base and DJ Easy Rock) because it was so irreverent and it took the piss out of the boomers' stodgy taste.

People, make your own list. Don't read or listen to the corporate media telling you what to buy.

WTF?
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is the best of the Smashing Pumpkins!
On edit: Good to see "A Rush of Blood To The Head" on the list...it's only going to climb the list as time goes on; it's a bloody brilliant CD!!
Not that I'm biased or anything...

11. great list, NightTrain . . .
ya got good taste . . . as your screen name might suggest . . . :)

I'm sure everyone has their own list . . . if the spirit ever moves me, maybe I'll compile my own some day and post it . . . I do know that Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" will be near the top, simply by virtue of how often I play it . . . others in the top ten would probably include Marley's "Exodus," Joni's "Court and Spark," and Van Morrison's "Moondance" . . .

12. Am i the only one that thinks the Beatle's are way overrated?
I mean some of their music is ok, but compared to Floyd, or Genesis they kinda suck.

13. Depends on what album(s) you mean

I think the Beatles' late-period stuff is overrated. (Guess I never did enough drugs to fully appreciate "Sgt. Pepper" and "The White Album.") But I think the lion's share of their pre-"Revolver" material kicks major ass, certainly more than Pink Floyd or Genesis ever did. Particularly after the latter took on Phil Collins.
