3. When they say "quid"
I think "squid," so I'm left thinking a new garden hose costs 15 squids.

4. Entirely interchangeable.
Is the program you were watching "Ground Force"? I love that show!!!

My husband and I own a house in Northern Ireland and about 3 years ago we had to have the "back garden" entirely cemented because grass would not grow due to the neighbors towering trees.

Don't ask me what kind of trees they are, locally they are referred to as "Castlewellan Golds", but they blocked every bit of sunlight in our "back garden".

on what looked like a concrete alley.. When he was done, it looked great:)

the Home makeovers are kind of tacky though:)
