Whoo-hoo! My boss got fired!

So I headed into work today, and one of the newer management guys (who I worked with at another company as well) called me into his office. At first, I was worried because I thought I was in trouble.

Then he told me that the current boss was terminated earlier today as part of "restructuring." I had to hide my glee because the terminated boss was one seriously crazy lady. She was competent, for sure, but more paranoid than Nixon. I made a few jokes at work that she took way too seriously, and that led to endless meetings with her. She was like a soulless robot with no life beyond her work, which is sad, considering we're not exactly saving lives or anything.

If I told you everything wrong with her, I'd be typing for hours, but let's just say I'm really happy right now. The new guy in charge is way cooler and actually possesses a soul, which is very helpful to my work environment. He mentioned possible bonuses and simplification of our strict rules, so that's just icing on the cake.

Anyway, I just had to share. :woohoo:

I'm happy for you...but a little sad for her. Crazy or not, it sucks to be let go for that reason just before the holidays... :hi: But congrats again to you. :hi:

Believe me, if you met this woman, you would not feel sorry for her. She also got a big severance package, I'm sure.

Hell, at my last job, I was laid off while I was on vacation, but didn't find out until I checked my answering machine messages two weeks later -- no advance notice and no severance package at all.

:( The type of job MrG is in (prototyping for the automotive and aerospace industries)they've been known to close a shop down on Friday afternoon with no notice. Especially lately. I hope your next boss is awesome! :toast:
