Firefox 1.5 is out

No official news yet, but the download has been enabled. I have been using the RC versions for the past weeks, and a few quirks aside, it is worth the update. Not fundamentally new, but smoother around the edges.

• Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.
  
• Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.
  
• Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.
  
• Improvements to popup blocking.
  
• Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.
  
• Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.
  
• Better accessibility including support for DHTML accessibility and assistive technologies such as the Window-Eyes 5.5 beta screen reader for Microsoft Windows. Screen readers read aloud all available information in applications and documents or show the information on a Braille display, enabling blind and visually impaired users to use equivalent software functionality as their sighted peers.
  
  
• Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.

5. I saw it on /. a few hours ago..

It is working fine for me.. After about 90 minutes of usage.

6. I've been using it since my first post in this thread and all is well.

The tab arrangement feature is neat.

7. I have had problems with it since I downloaded it.

I want my old version back.

It will freeze when I try to refresh and then give me a message that the server is not available.

I've had to bring my computer down 3 times and bring it back up to be able to get back to the web page I was working in. I couldn't even get back to DU to post this.

Any suggestions?

8. Just downloaded it...running it now...

Version 1.5 is NOT compatible with RoboForm. If you use that program, you will have to go to roboform.com and download the plugin to make it work. It took some work to figure that one out. I don't know WHAT I'd do without roboform so I was kinda freaked when it told me that roboform was not compatible with 1.5!

I'll let you know of any problems as I use the new version! After the roboform fix...so far so good...

9. Hmmm...this is strange...

The scroll bar that is supposed to be on the right hand side of the browser is missing. :shrug: What did I miss here?

11. Ah, OK...The theme I was using isn't right for 1.5 yet...

Changed to the Default theme and everything looks fine!

In fact, it was so seamless I really can't even tell I have a new version. I had been using the RCs though.
