I need a longer range. The one I have right now is very weak in terms of range. I need to be able to connect to an office about 100 yards from me using an usb wireless adapter. Right now, I have a dlink dwl-122, and if necessary, will purchase a new usb network usb adapter if it can be proven that it is strong enough to connect at least at 50% or more. I barely connect at 11% and it is not strong enough.

3. I might be wrong, but I believe you need a booster between you and
the wireless router.

Attaching a booster to your USB port isn't gonna do anything; it needs to speak with the router itself.

But I could be thinking of a repeater, not a booster, but I don't know if they make anything called a "repeater" (used to have those for wire; I don't think wireless uses them).
