There IS such a thing as too much togetherness.
Six hours of family togetherness... in a 3 room apartment.

Mom and Dad got to lie down for a couple of hours.
The brother has learned the fine art of ignoring his kids. The 12-yr old is fine with football and video games. The 6-year old had a major meltdown, cried in my arms, and we napped together for a while.

When I get a chance to get to the computer, I get company. Ah, here she is again... and again.... and again.

I am an introvert by nature, and need my quiet space. Apparently, I am not going to get that today.

Please, won't somebody help me?
:banghead:

1. And from his earlier responses,
it sounds like your brother is a giant asshole. I feel for ya.

3. Now, now
Family is family is family.
He's the same person I would probably be, if I had not quit my good paying job at age 25. There but for the grace? of God, go I.

4. Yeah, pretty much.... it's all about him.
He also knows how to push my buttons. He looked up and asked "When is Ruth going to fix us something to eat?"

21. Nice.
Well, I wanted to strangle my mom a couple of times too, so we're even. Breathe....breathe....

Adversarial doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about my mother.

16. I sound like a young rain man to myself
walking along, talking to myself (well, reading things out loud).

Can you count cards? If so, I foresee a trip to Vegas in our future.

6. That's quite cozy.
You'll need awhile to recharge after this. As a fellow introvert I fully understand. Sometimes even being in a larger house isn't enough space on days like this.

7. I finally told everyone "I need some time to myself"
and shut the door to the office. Thankfully, it has a lock, too.

11. Cool.
I know about having days when I'm in meetings or conventions with constant people contact. I just go off by myself for a while to clear my head. Walks are good.

8. Yes, I do believe there is.
The holiday will be over soon and your life can return to normal.

Your niece just has a major crush on her favorite Aunt. :)

10. She needs to bond with grandma.
I handed mom a book of short stories (kids stories) that she had when she was a little girl. Finally, I told her I brought out the book for a reason.

Aunt Ruth will be around for a few more years. Grandma's time is far more precious than mine.

14. I'm sure grandma appreciated the attention.
I know I enjoy reading to children. Then I get to give them back to their mommies.

12. YES!
Calgon, take me away!!
Seriously, I'd take a bath, but knowing Sarah, she'd peel off her clothes and jump in the tub with me.

Why don't I have that same appeal to men?
