Is it me, or does the Holidays bring out the worst in people?

1. Better to step on toes
than to step in Abramoff shit, as Harry Reid seems to have done.

Obviously, I hope he's exonerated of wrongdoing, but I'm sad that he was in the money pipeline in the first place.

9. a few more are connected to Casino Jack too
like the esteemed Max Baucus who was using an Abramoff goon to do some fundraising for him. :)

Max has been shaky for a while. Never been much of a fighter, but he's a near worthless bureaucrat now.

2. GD can always be a little catty
you have a bunch of passionate people who have all kinds of different opinions and they all love to argue. :) It's not hard to step on toes. It's almost impossible not to do so. :)

7. interesting that I
used the word "catty" to someone with the SN "Catwoman."

Must've just been some kind of weird word correlation I did without thinking. :)

before they really even think about what it is they are saying...

6. Happy Thanksgiving WC!
Yes they do tend to fly off the handle sometimes. There are some subjects that it just don't matter what you say. If you say you like Clark, then somebody will jump on you for that. If you criticize Clark well then you get your head bit off for that too. Same with Dean, Kerry or some other candidate people really like. If you dare to say a candidate should have done something different, well hell, don't you know we can't win because Diebold completely owns everthing? Heaven forbid you suggest we could actually win an election! Blame a machine for everything! Try mentioning that you think Osama is still alive. That's a fun one. It gets to the point that you would think they found the guy's body paraded it around for a week and them Bush personally stole it and buried bin laden behind the WH with a shovel and is hiding it from the world, lol.

It can get wild.

8. For what its worth,
The main toe who seems stepped on the most has a remarkable ability to start fights in almost every thread replied to, without fear of punishment it seems.

It's like a ritual everyone has to go through, tangling with the guy.

it's the 'getting liquoured up' and the 'suffering through the ignorant side of the family' that seems to bring out the worst in people.

That's what happens in GD. So hang out with us instead - if you step on our toes the worst thing that will happen is we might ask you out for dinner. And you can always say no. I'd avoid Wetzelbill though, he's collecting bad women :)

36. The verdict is still out
When the others see Trina come, they haul ass.

She and Male keep fighting over Trina eating Male's food.

I came home from work yesterday, and there was fur all over the kitchen floor.

I talked to Teena last night, and she instilled more patience into me.

Guess what I ordered for myself for Christmas?

Getting it from Amazon -- the price flucuates between a dollar or two.

I was able to order it for $66.00, and the shipping's free :D

46. Ooo! Good choice. One of the best miniseries ever!
Derek Jacobi is simply incredible; Sian Phillips as Livia gives a performance that is downright frightening. Livia is smart, shrewd, perceptive, relentless, scary, and the epitome of evil. She also displays what I can only describe as 'strange, inscrutable beauty.'

I know you'll love it.

Rumour has it that the actors were having a hard time getting into character and working together as an ensemble. The director, according to the rumour, told them to "think of the Julio-Claudian family as the Mafia!" After that, they had no problems at all getting into the spirit of things. Don't know if it's true or not, but it makes a great story.

47. that's a good description for them: the Mafia
and to think that Claudius, the one they taunted, teased and regarded as "unworthy" to be a leader, became the best leader born out of that lineage.
