Do not buy an Iriver H10 20GB Mp3 player!!
I have had two in the last two days and both of them failed. I took one back today because it locked up and today the battery in the replacement apparently failed. Fucking piece of shit. DO NOT BUY THESE THEY SUCK!

1. Their H300 line is supposed to be excellent...
They pissed me off enough by cutting OGG support from the H10 line for me to not buy one.

2. I think they discontinued some of those
I could be wrong but I am not buying another one of their products. I only got this one because it is a large capacity drive and works with Rhapsody to go. I guess I will get a Zen Micro; it only has 6 GB though.

3. Yeah, it's an absolute shame they discontinued the H320

You can still find them online. They don't have the most user-friendly interface, but the fm radio, OGG playback, picture viewing and ability to record sound are great. Plus they sound much better than an ipod. There really is a big difference. If you flash with Korean firmware you can actually watch video on it like the newest ipod, but I really don't have an urge to watch tv on a tiny portable like that. Still, I really love the h320 and I have had zero problems with it. It was worth every penny.

4. Now it works.
For some reason the screen was black. I had it plugged in all night to charge and it still wouldn't come on. Now it seems to work fine. Not sure if I should return it now or not. Maybe I'll give it a few more days (I have 30 to return it) to see if it acts bizarre.

6. yes but I like the capacity
I have a 256 mb player also and it just isn't big enough for plane trips or anything like that. Even 1 GB wouldn't be enough I don't think.

8. I'm telling ya..
... treat it like nitroglycerine or you won't get a year out of it :)

Hard drives were not made to be moving around while they are spinning....

9. Umm so what's up with a lap-top?
I think you'll find that plenty of people have gotten more than a year's worth of use out of their HD-based players.

7. I have in my hand
an Iriver IFP-890 and love it; even though it is only a 256MB. Hubby has one too....no problems.

10. I suspect that non-hard drive players do not have issues
like this. I figured out how to solve this problem by resetting the device. But sometimes it only plays one or two songs before it freezes again. Now, this may be buggy firmware and not a defect of the HD per se. But still it would be nice if things worked right out of the box. i have not had problems with computers or laptops doing similar things so it is not all hard drives. But many other brands (including ipods) do have these issues. Now it is freezing when I try to synch with Rhapsody (which you have to do to renew the songs- otherwise you have to download everything all over again, a big pain if there are lots of songs). So I am not sure what to do.
