Tomorrow I leave for the land of Freepers and horse shit,
Edited on Mon Nov-21-05 11:57 PM by ZombieNixon
leaving Chicago behind for ThanksgivingrunstraightintoChristmas break. I'm looking forward to a month and a half of aimless screwing off, but unfortunately, as I said, I will be surrounded by Freepers, and will most likely be sober the whole time.

It's a win/lose situation.

1. Do you *have* to be sober the whole time?
Frankly, if I were to be spending a month and a half with Freepers I'd want to be wasted as much as possible.

4. Well, unfortunately,

I'll be with my parents, and the only friend I have who's old enough to buy  won't because he can't hold his alcohol. It's also a small town, so you can't hide from the shame (edit: or the cops) if your party gets busted.

I feel for you--I'd feel like :banghead: if I were in your position.

2. Ouch. Being surrouned by freepers is bad enough, but to be sober...

5. 11:00 this morning
I had my last final. We're on a quarter system, so we get out early for winter but slightly later for summer.

Damn.

When do you come back for Spring semester? We're on the semester schedule here...so we're off from roughly Dec. 20-Jan 15.

8. You know what I'm REALLY gonna miss?
Jamba Juice. It's like your average smoothie, except it makes me have ORGASMS and I will provide you with favors that would get this thread locked if you bought me some!

15. That's an invitation I can hardly pass up!
Where, pray tell, do I find this Jamba Juice?
Oh, and exactly what part of Freeperville will you be exiled to?

17. Jamba Juice: underneath the Washington/Wells station on the CTA Brown line
Me: 1500 miles away in NW NM, far away from Jamba Juice

Something to make you sleep for several weeks, perhaps? :(

20. Farmington? Grants? Shiprock?
I'd have to suggest you just load up on as many green chile cheeseburgers at Lotaburger as you can.

Also, consume red chile like it's water, just beware the dreaded burning ring of fire!h

Seriously, just think about all of the things that you can't get in Chicago that you can get there. As isolated and strange as it can be there, think of all of the amazing culture that is there and is unlike anything anywhere else on the planet!

Can you take a day trip to Chaco? Just get out into the middle of nothing and think about how quiet it is there compared to Chicago. Turn it into a sociology project and have some fun with it.

And eat some posole and tamales for me! Or how about a good old fashioned Frito Pie?

:toast:

I don't know if that's worse than horse shit, though.

19. Think of it this way.
Your freepers are in Illinois, one of the bluest states in this country. So I'd say they're the ones that are surrounded.

23. I have arrived.
I am sitting in my room in the land of Freepers and horse shit. My feet are cold, because our heating sucks and things are very, very quiet. That is all.

24. Hang in there, buddy.
Whenever I get really pissed off or upset about my circumstances, I try to remember how much I have to be grateful for. That always seems to help b/c it changes my perspective. This is certainly an appropriate time to be thinking of such things, too.

Wishing you abundant blessings!! Happy Thanksgiving, ZombieNixon!

Doesn't sound to me like you have a damn thing to complain about.

We should all have such luxuries...
