What is an AMD mobile sempron?
I've never had a laptop, and I'm clueless.

1. Isn't that what Colin Powell was talking about to the UN?
Sorry that was Wmd mobile labs Saddam. But seriously, the AMD Semperon chip is the AMD equivalent of the Intel Celeron chip. It's a cpu chip that has less memory area on the chip so some of the processing is done in ram memory which makes the chip slower and cheaper to produce so it sells for less. I would go for the AMD Athalon if you can afford it. You might want to post in the computer forum as I am no expert on this subject.

I think the mobile part means the chip is set up to work in a laptop and can work with mobile networks.

5. "mobile" has nothing to do with networking
any computer with an 802.11x wireless card can access the corresponding network. mobility, here, implies that it was meant to draw less power and maximize battery life.

4. Here's a link to AMD's product brief
This may or may not help, since it's a bit techie. Basically, the Sempron is the lower-end AMD processor, although still a perfectly good fast CPU for most purposes. It's actually a rebranded version of an earlier Athlon. The mobile version is designed to consume less power and give you better battery life on your laptop

Well, anyway...

There are links to more general Sempron and AMD processor info on this page as well.
