Technology for the CHALLENGED
Ok........this is for all us girlies that have no idea what is happening in technology

I understand & have a VCR..records, plays back ok quality

I have a 7"DVD and its fun that I can take it with me and pay movies but does not record.

What the hell is a DVR and what is a TIVO and why would you want them...do you need both if you have a VCR and DVD?

1. TiVo and DVR are two words for the same thing
They record stuff at digital quality...so no funky lines when fast forwarding and stuff.

Love my TiVo! It has a DVD recorder built in as well. TiVo records to a hard drive (similar to computers). But I can take stuff on my TiVo and save them to DVDs.

7. Like a DVR is a digital video recorder and a TIVO is a pay to record box
every month you pay them to record stuff whereas a vcr lets you tape mega times for the original price of the tape. If the world's greatest picture quality isn't important, the little vcr is just fine. Even DVD recorders are complicated now, I bought what was supposed to be a simple one, and it is still 6 steps to record.

The old tape, shove it in and hit the big red REC button. I can't remember anything I'd want to keep that I'd record. Only stuff I'd missed because I was out, like most folks. TIVO, another way to separate you from your money, and if anyone tries to convince you otherwise, they are brainwashed.

NOTHING on TV (cable) is more important than life itself.
