1. I read several
I was big on mystery stories, and this was one of the series I read.

4. I was pretty much addicted to it. Just wondering who else was into it.
I guess it was Hardy-boys derived. I was suprised to find an international following for the books today with hardcovers sometimes going for fifty bucks a pop.

2. I did
I was a pretty voracious reader as kid. That was one of my favorite series.

3. Yes
I also liked the Meg Mysteries. Those were for younger kids.

5. I read them all, and all of the other
mysteries in the childrens section of the local library. When there were no more mysteries to read, I moved to the next section, the science fiction section. Soon I was reading from the adult science fiction racks, and I have never looked back.

6. I sure did.
And I have all of them in hard back until they started coming out with a cheaper binding. I was most like Bob. How about you?

7. I don't know. Jupiter I guess. That collection of yours is worth a few
bucks now. I have a few lying around. And yeah after about book fifteen or so they started changing authors and I sort of outgrew them or lost interest.

8. The earliest by Robert Arthur are the best.
He wrote some great short stories too in some of the Alfred Hitchcock story compilations. Some of the stories are online, I found, if you are interested in reading them.

9. I did.
I don't remember much about them other than it was the first book series where I set a goal to read everyone of them. I owned only one, "The Mystery of the Green Ghost." The rest I borrowed from the library.

10. They were fantastic - I'd love to read some again one day
They were reprinted when I was young and I was able to pick up them 2nd hand pretty easily. My favorite was probably the "Dancing Devil" - great little mystery infused with horror. I also had the audio tape of "The Secret of Terror Castle" which got multiple plays. A really good little fan site has it available for download:

For a while I wanted to be Jupiter and I even set up my own club called the 'Fantastic Four'. We put an advert in the local newspaper and got a reply from an old woman who had discovered a map with clues to some hidden jewellery. The four of us gathered together and spent a morning driving round the countryside, following signs, until we reached a wooded area. We followed the map for ages until we reached 'X' and sure enough there was a box with a necklace inside. We returned home triumphant and - forgetting the old woman completely - split up everything. I kept the necklace, the others got the map, the box and the clues. It was a brilliant day (and also the first and last case for our club) and I never suspected anything. It was only in a casual conversation with my Mum about ten years later that I discovered she and my Dad had set up the entire thing!

Then I discovered Willard Price and my obsession turned to zoology.

12. Sounds like something my pop did.... stuck a hundred dollars in old
currency -- (silver certificates and oversized bills)in an old army coat in the attic. When we were all doing a clean up.. and found it...
Nothing like smart (ass) parents who stoke young imaginations. Zoology huh. Think I'll google Price.
