1. How can one turn down a piece of carrot cake?
Someone earlier had a thread about carrot cake. Although I've not clicked on it, the subliminals from seeing that thread header in the lounge has profoundly influenced my vote!

9. I woke up a few hours ago
and couldn't go back to sleep. Been a bit of a restless night. I'm about to try to crash out again though. Had some orange juice as well, so that should help too.

It is just about 5 minutes to 6 am right now. I woke up at about 3 am.

13. Best of luck to ya
I'm about to have a room full of 15-16 year-olds. Today's lesson is on German history and they have a test on Friday.

I'm counting my lucky stars that none of them have brought me the flu.

18. I have always loved the Pickelhaube
I have always thought it could come in handy if one were trapped in a corner. Just put your head down and charge like a bull.

This lesson is where I introduce our students to the Kulturkampf as it is very similar to what has been going on in America quite recently (can we learn from the mistakes of others?). Hopefully, they will learn to look at themselves in the mirror.

All of my students want me to teach them about "Mr. Schickelgrüber". I cannot understand the fascination they have for him.

I could have Cheney's heart to feed my dogs, and an impeachment for my favorite simian, amongst so many other things.

There's a side of me that's been repressed. Power and control feels good. Not power over vast legions of people but power over my mind and my destiny.

Yup, just like in the ending of Shakesphere's Macbeth. I want to be able to parade it around the country, especially in the states that voted that asshole into power.
