I like you, I really do. I support you. I sign your petitions and defend you even when you act like wankers, because I'm a woman and we need to support pro-choice organizations especially now that we're staring down the barrel of Scalito. I've even given you money in the past. That having been said...

What part of, "I'm a broke ass temp who can't give you any money right now, or any of the approximately 500 billion organizations that are spamming my email for donations, but I will donate online as soon as I can" is unclear? $50 is a lot of money for some of us. Haggling with me is not going to make money for you magically appear in my wallet, nor is offering to "take care of it for me right now" when I tell you I will donate on the website when I get paid. In summary...

STOP CALLING MY FUCKING HOUSE.

PS. I realize financial support of progressive orgs is crucial, which is when I try to give when I can, but not all of us are limousine liberals, a lot of us are broke ass liberals with bills.

1. One group I used to donate to without fail got REALLY aggressive

about pleas for funds long ago, pre-internet. I was getting 2-5 mailings a week (snail mail, much more expensive than the present spam) and since this was a REALLY BIG and successful advocacy organization, I knew they would not dry up and blow away if I didn't give more than the sum I could barely afford, but sent once a year without fail.

Finally saved up a month's worth of the papers, pictures, pamphlets and so on they sent. put them in a box and sent it to them, with a note:
While I do understand and value the important work you do, if you can afford to send this much crap in a month to a person who can only make a modest yearly donation, you are already getting too much money. I will send the money to a different organization next year if I keep getting this kind of evidence that you have too much resources already.

After that, only one request for donation..... per year.
