I remember when he got fired from Indiana years ago there was this girl on the bus who had gone there talking to someone else about how it was a big deal...my basic feeling is that the people who really like Bobby Knight do so at the expense of respect for the actual players playing the game or people just trying to ask him a fucking question it's his fucking job to answer.

but the players who play for him should know what they are getting into, secondly even if you dislike him his teams play great basketball.

2. Well beside the choking thing...

...which is a crime whether or not you play for the basketball team, a lot of what he's repudiated for is how he treats people other than his players. Like assaulting a police officer and throwing a chair and grabbing some kid's arm in a restaurant after he was put on probation.

questions them. A lot of people in Indiana worshiped Bobby. They let Bobby do whatever he wanted for a long time. I think if his record was better he would still be at IU. They're giving the new coach hell now threatening to get rid of him after every season. The only redeeming quality Bobby had was expecting his guys to be students first.

when i was a texas tech, the campus newspaper printed a story about how Knight yelled at the President of the university while shopping at a grocery store after the guy said hello to Knight.

what kind of an ass do you have to be to get worked up at the grocery store? knight almost got fired after that, i believe he apologized.
