Seems they cut back on some of the better performances of the show. Although my adoration for Green Day is quite well known they only showed one of their songs. Also cut back on the DVD was Kanye West's performance to one song.
Then I remembered - Green Day and Kanye West both made anti-bush/anti-war comments during the performance even though Geldof asked that no one make them. I'm wondering if the performances were cut because of that.
To be honest, I wish they had put an extra DVD or 2 in the collection and had expanded many more of the performances. The Green Day performance was considered one of the best outside of Pink Floyd (yes, it's all on there) but did I really need to have 2 songs of lesser groups?
Fortunately I got it for $35 so it'll sit on my shelf. When MTV/VH1 did the replays a week after the concert I was able to get a complete set of the Green Day/AudioSlave performances. I just think it would be nice to be able to purchase complete concerts instead of giving us this truncated version of the show
3. I am dissapointed by the decision to limit "The" DVD to London and Philly
The main DVD set is mostly limited to Philly and London, with a few international hits from the other stages mixed in. Personally I think this contradicts the very idea of an international concert. The national acts (i.e. not English language) took part in the campaign and had every right to get a place on the official DVD - moving them to expensive extra DVDs is not a nice move at all.
