Poll question: Kirk or Picard or Sisko or Janeway?
Capt. James T. Kirk: Most celebrated Starship captain in Starfleet history. Also the most sued, with 234 paternity suits and 456 sexual harrasment charges filed throughout alpha and beta quadrants.

Capt. Jean-Luc Picard: A legend. Also a French guy who sounds suspiciously like a British guy.

Capt.Benjamin Sisko: Succesfully dealt with an entire crew that appeared to have leprosy or just generally looked really weird.

Capt.Kathryn Janeway: A steadfast performance despite the fact that even her own crew rarely watched "Voyager".

3. Star Trek without Camp is dreadfully dull to me
and the original series has the campiness.....

Of course, I'm so jaded, I can only appreciate satire and classical tragedy anymore......

14. Always and Forever
Picard!

My husband and I have a total disagreement about who is the better Captain between Kirk and Picard.

How can anyone possibly think Kirk was a better Captain? All he did was screw his was across the galaxy.

19. Who is freeping this poll?
Only Kirk deserves to be the winner. He paved the way so Picard's cargo ship can go back and forth and so Sisko can sit next to a wormhole and ask himself if he should shave his head... meanwhile, Janeway just wants to get back home instead of being a true explorer and send back lots of messages... (and everyone she encountered seemed to be just the same as everything else too. Yawn.)

22. Yeah, damn it.
I don't know that Archer was necessarily cooler, or Enterprise better, but after decades of pretentiousness, I loved seeing a Trek full of ordinary folks.

She was on a soap called "Ryan's Hope." Hubba hubba.

24. Sisko, no doubt.
No Star Trek captain had a more looming, power radiating prescence. Not one had the same volcanically smoldering glare coupled with the calm, deep resonant voice speaking rationally, letting you know he was following orders, even if he thought that the Federation would decorate him as a hero, if he strangled you on the spot.

Finally, no other Star Trek captain faced the same physical, mental, emotional, legal and moral challenges that were brought on by the Dominion War.
