JVS' fatwa update for the lounge faithful.

I hereby declare the following things to be abominations to be hated by the righteous:

UPS, because they are a pain in the ass.

School shootings, because they sucked in the 90's and they still suck as much now but are additionally out of date.

The MLA handbook for it's moronic documentation style (Dickhead, p.36) because we all know that footnotes are the one true documentation path.

Endnotes, because they are a failed abortion of a footnote.

I also condemn libraries that list items as lost but don't replace them. What the hell were the penalties that the previous patron paid (this is a university library, so they had the power to collect) spent on? Some kind of coked up librarian orgy?

Go forth and proclaim the truth of these fatwas!

1. Can I get a "Ramen"?

However, I would like to state my opinion that Endnotes were developed before computers and word processors for people who didn't want to take the time to line up all those footnotes at the bottom of the page. It's just easier to stick them at the end. Damn the readers! They can flip to the back!

2. No ramen from me, I reject the false FSM deity.

Now that we have good wordprocessing, endnotes should be relegated to the dustbin of history. Flipping to the back interrupts the flow and greatly diminishes the effectiveness of the anecdotal footnote.
