My Dad's out of surgery. They found the hemorrhage, isolated it,

and stanched the flow of blood. When I left the hospital last night, he was still anesthetized, intubated, and had a tube down his esophagus to siphon out the remaining blood.

He lost 13 units of blood over the course of the day; 11 units before the procedure, and 2 during scoping and surgery. His wife, who is the chief of anesthesia services at the hospital, hand-picked the surgeon and anesthesiologist. They both expressed optimism after the procedure. So now we'll just see what happens.

My Dad's wife is just about wiped out. She has been awake, with short catnaps only, for over a week, and is totally stressed out; so I hope she can get some rest now.
