Anybody getting requests for personal info, ostensibly from PayPal?

1. There was a PayPal scam

about a year ago. Don't tell me that's making the rounds again.

Bacially it was an email asking for personal info, none of which Paypal needs to do business.

They had to send out email notices and alerts disclaiming the thing, IIRC.

The virus is new, just discovered on Friday, it attempts to steal credit card information.

I've never used PayPal and I've been getting that today too.

Here's another one to be aware of, it's a scam targeting PayPal users and a phony web site.

4. That's the latest variant of the MIMAIL virus

it attempts to get the user to "renew their paypal account" so it can steal their credit card information.

5. I got one supposedly from CitiBank

It asked for my card # and pin. Yeah, sure, I'll type that in right away. :dunce:

8. Yeah, I got that one a couple of times.

I e-mailed them back and asked if they wanted my SS# and all my personal info also.
