To all the DUers in the path of Wilma...
GOD SPEED AND GOD BLESS!!

From The Weather Channel www.weather.com
http://www.weather.com/newscenter/stormwatch/?from=footer
"Hurricane Wilma is moving faster. After slipping off the Yucatan Peninsula into the Gulf of Mexico early this morning, the storm is now accelerating toward southern Florida. Wilma's forward speed is up to 12 mph and even faster movement is anticipated. Landfall is expected in south Florida early tomorrow, probably near sunrise. The hurricane has maintained maximum sustained winds near 100 mph for quite a few hours now, but is still expected to strengthen before smacking into the Sunshine State."

14. Oh boy....
peace and love to you and yours. If she's deployed, be sure to let us at DU know, and me personally, if possible. I can and would love to help with packages from home. I help organize an effort at work for care-packages with very useful and much needed stuff and thoughts.

 for bearing thru storm and a few more for your kids in the service :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

6. No.
We're actually on the east coast, so it has to come across the state before it gets us. Hopefully, that will weaken it.

We are never in the evacuation zone, though. We're 10 miles inland in a concrete house. I think we'll be OK.

8. Just letting others know what is going on
Many not in an area where things are happening want to know the WHO, WHAT,WHERE, AND WHEN. So it is nice to let them see a map or pic. Picture is worth a 1,000 words!

9. Oh.
I'm not seeing a picture in post #5. That's why I asked.

I clicked on the links from the OP and only see red boxes instead of pictures. I don't know what's up with that, but weather.com doesn't work right on any of our computers. They're all running different operating systems, different firewalls, etc.

Here are some other maps that even works for us. :)

It won't be too bad, but I'm hoping we don't have lasting power outages.

17. Thanks!
My house is all boarded up, and we're stocked on supplies. I've been charging the laptop battery all day so that I'll have something to do.

I went through Frances and Jeanne last year, and lost my house to the latter. It's kind of scary to go through this again, I admit, and it sucks that I was almost ready to move out of the area.

18. My best to all my fellow Floridian DUers in the path!
I'm just north of the projected strike zones (like that means anything). She's going faster and getting a bit stronger, so you guys and gals hang in tight!
