Best Bloody Mary Mix?
And I mean GOOD - not Mr. and Mrs. T's

I like it spicy and not overly tomato-y. There is a Chargers game at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and I need to get my buzz on early. Thanks for understanding.

1. here's the recipe I used every year for the Dixie Land Jazz Festival
in Old Town Sacramento, voted best 3 years running

fill a 16 oz glass with ice and 1-1/2 to 2 oz Vodka
salt and pepper (tap the shakers together over the ice firmly)
a good shake of celery salt
1/4 up to one 1 full teaspoon horseradish (the more the hotter)
three solid dashes of Worcestershire sauce
two dashes of Tabasco
fill with tomato juice (not V-8!!)
stir vigorously

garnish with lime wedge, celery stalk and green stuffed olive

Enjoy!

3. LOL yeah. I won at the bar I worked at 3 years in a row, then when I
"went freelance" only working the festival, but not working all year in Old Town, the bar owners would pay me $100 for a half a day to come make mix in 5 gallon buckets for the different venues LOL

I'll tell ya, making them one at a time is a heck of a lot easier then getting the mix right 5 gallons at a time

PS with the salt and pepper give it two firm taps over the glass

5. When you say firm taps...
Do you mean Teaspoon or something else? Cuz I grind my salt and pepper so I guess taps won't do it. :-)

4. That is the same recipe that I use (except for the olive!) I used to
tend bar at an Elk's Lodge during summers off from college and I made A LOT of Bloody Marys. My wife swears that my Bloody Marys are the best she has ever had!!

V-8?? That's blasphemy!
