Woohoo! Go Tech Go! (UT vs. Texas Tech thread)

Tech scored but UT blocked the extra point. Oops. 6-0 Tech.

I'm an alumni of both Tech and UT but the Red Raiders are MY team.

4. Hey now...
I actually enjoyed my time in Lubbock. (1989-1993) I was at Tech when the women's basketball team won the National Championship. It rocked.

I kinda miss Lubbock sometimes. The big sky. Molly Ivins said it best, "Once you've been to Lubbock everywhere else on earth is claustrophobic". :-)

10. Don't forget about...
the Dust. :-)

I remember the wind blowing so hard it would set off car alarms. I remember the gypsum in the water...mmm...crunchy. And I remember thuderstorms combined with dust storms where it actually rained mud.

But I also remember crystal clear blue skies that spread out forever. And I remember seeing real live snow for the first time in my life in Lubbock. :-)

2. I can't be the only one who cares about this game.
UT scored too - 7 to 6 Texas. Looking like this could be a shootout.

I'm so conflicted. :-)

Texas is gonna run all over ya, although I hope you win.

5. This is true...

Tech has NO defense at all. Just gotta hope that offense can outgun UT. My guess...somebody wins this game 59 to 56. :-)

Hey...aren't you supposed to be out partying?

6. Entertaining is good.
A&M managed to at least score today. Held Missouri under 50 too. :eyes:

Sorry about your Aggies. Don't worry - their day will come again.

Did that sound convincing? ;-)

11. I would actually...
like to see A&M be really good again. Back when I was in college at Tech, A&M and UT and Tech were all about even and the games were close and it was lots of fun. I'd much rather see all the Texas teams be good. Makes football season more interesting.

12. I agree! Although...when I was a student, A&M never lost to Texas.
Tech games in Lubbock are another story. :-)

I gotta go - shower time. :hi:

13. Have fun at your party!
Yup, those games late in the season in Lubbock can get interesting with the wind and the weather.

When I was in school Tech never beat UT and A&M both in the same season. They'd always beat one and lose to the other. Most frustrating.

14. Whooooooo!
It was looking bleak but Tech finally scored again and made the 2 point conversion to make it 21-14 UT.

UT better not let Tech hang around close. :-)
