Anyone bored? Love to shop on line? Help...
I need to find a particular women's shirt, and quickly.

An Oxford shirt or similar long-sleeve button down in cotton or linen. Royal or Sapphire blue! Size 26 or 3X. I need to get it by next Thursday. I am trying to work (not too successfully, as you see by my "addicted" thread) but need to order this shirt asap too. And I am having no luck finding it.

Shoppers! To your Browsers!!

 a humble thank you... :hi:

2. That's a great shirt, but no.
It's much darker than that, but not navy. Think cobalt almost. I need a deep, clear royal blue.

You rock, progmom....

3. ..I haven't seen anything cobalt or royal blue!
It's like everyone is putting out drab fall colors of faded blue or navy or pea-soup green and dark purple, I see no vibrant colors anywhere! Dammit! Why do retailers think people want dark dull colors in the winter?

All I can think of is cruising the sales racks for the summer surplus stuff in brighter, clearer colors... ???

6. Landsend.com

usually has classic, no frills shirts. Colors come and go, but I should think blue would be easy.

Sorry, just "true blue."

8. Another thought
sierratradingpost.com

They have overstock from major brands and usually last season's stuff. Size might be a problem with these guys, but I've gotten some terrific buys there. Recently bought some Mephisto shoes and save $100.

12. i just got a great deal from them

but since they are a RED company and I'm trying to buy blue, it's difficult, esp. since they have such a great guarantee. I don't know how to reconcile my blue beliefs w/ my desire for a great bargain, sigh.

19. Well, hell.
I didn't know they were a red company. I just ordered some Sauconys from them at about30% off.

Won't give up my Sauconys, but will e-mail them to take me off their mailing list. Thanks for the info.

9. Maybe this one?
This is as close as I could find.

Click on the "Waterfall Blue". It may be too light, though.

It's not quite Oxford since the buttons are hidden...

I don't know if you could get it by Thursday even so, but you could maybe try one of the stores...

17. No problem
I think dyeing a shirt is a good option too. I haven't tried it, but I think it would work pretty well since you're looking for a particular color.

:hi:Thanks for the welcome! I'm not really that new, but I don't post very often. I've been lurking around DU for a while.

My user name  comes from the fact that I signed up when I was feeling particularly bitter about the gay marriage issue during the primaries... but I'm generally pretty mellow so I'm kind of embarrassed that I picked something so extreme and pessimistic... but oh well.

Good luck with the shirt!

out of the question....

Thanks, KW!

Now: where do I buy dye? And how does one dye a shirt? ;)

15. I think you can get the Rit Brand dyes at K-Mart or Target
Or even the fabric stores.

Make sure the shirt is 100% cotton or the dye will not take. The dyes have instructions for how to do it (you do it in the washing machine.)

16. You are very sweet, and as you see, I have little common sense about
such things. I once needed to sew on a button but couldn't find a needle. I tried to use a fork.

20. yes, and if you use Rit Royal Blue be sure to really saturate it with blue
when I used that very dye i didn't concentrate it enough and it turned out denim-like
