Easy recipe for you folks...pure heaven.
If you ever come across fresh Black Mission figs, buy them.

At home:

In a covered saucepan, add figs (remove stems). Cover with red wine (I used a very cheap shiraz). Bring to a boil, and simmer slowly, covered, for 2 to 3 hours.

Let cool completely in the fridge. Like little morsels of heaven.
