On 9/11 what did the other networks do?
I have been wondering about this recently.

I was at work (and not on DU yet) so all my information came from phone calls and some internet.

Was anyone watching other cable channels (say The Food Network or HBO for instance)? Any of you non TV people? Anyone quietly reading or listing to music?

What did the other TV networks do? Did they flip over to CNN or something?

If you fit into any of the descriptions above-how did you find out what had happened? (please include your activity at that time in the subject line)

5. A co-worker announced it as I came back from a smoke break
A message on my phone from an OLD friend-he and his wife and their new born were watching GMA live when the second one hit. The rest of the day was spent staring at the computer monitor.

That Friday someone kicked our door in and stole our TVs not the remotes or the VCRs just the TVs. My uncle called the FBI -long funny story.

4. I watched "The Searchers" on AMC.
I believe most cable networks were black. I know FoodTV was. ESPN was at ABC News.
