2. Gonna be hard to top Gene Hackman, but if anyone can do it,

it would be Spacey.

I'm so terrified of this Superman movie. No one's ever made a good one (yes, I'm one of *those* people), nor a good TV show (though this last one that was on, which I never saw, I heard from many trustworthy peopled was quite good).

He's such a difficult character since without REALLY good writing, he's just a boring invincible guy who's never really in danger. I was very thankful when John Byrne remade him back in the 80s, but even after a year, Byrne's writing started to suffer from the unstoppable invincible juggernaut acrchetype.

I really hope, now that GOOD superhero movies are being made, that this Superman will be the movie that every other one should have been. I hope so!!!

Spacey really does look the part and I do hope this film is good. I have confidence in the man who brought us the first two X-Men in films.

I've never been a regular reader of a Superman comic but my friend who is liked all four of the Reeve "Superman" films. Personally I only like the first one.

7. The first one is at least tolerable, but it's still really bad, IMO

It's just very unplausible and hamfisted to me. I don't think it was a faithful or even kind treatment of the character.
