Penderecki's music can be really &*@^ scary sometimes
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 12:49 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I love it!!

His Polish Requiem - haunting

Threnody for the victims of Hiroshima - terrifying

The stuff I'm listening to now which I can't remember because I don't have the CD booklet and the CD is in the machine playing so I can't read the name of the piece - also really scary

I have rather a number of CDs by this genius, and whether it's instrumental or choral, it's fucking out of control gorgeous, emotional, raw, and goes right down the spine into the very first cosmic hum of the universe's birth.

On edit: I thought, "Oh, what the hell, stop the CD and check the name of the piece", so I did. Lo and behold, this CD has NOTHING listed on it in terms of the pieces of music on it. Crap!! The CD booklet is home, so no hope of finding out. Sorry everyone!

5. Luc Ferrari's music is like that, too.....
I once put on a CD of his, then forgot I put it on (y'know, pot smoking can do that to ya....). About seven minutes later I wondered why I felt like there were zombies chasing me.

I've since sworn off "dissonant drone pieces."

6. I am getting the Polish Requiem
Based on your recommendation.

I first learned of Penderecki through - you guessed it - FZ.
