42. My best friend sort of did that by himself.

My friend, now 20 years old, is an amazing driver. For example, about 2 months after he got his driver's license, he came in second in a time trial race on a frozen lake west of Denver. Last year, he and his college roommate (who is from China) drove up that road. My pal has no qualms taking hairpin turns on dirt roads at 40-50 mph. All the while his roomie kept asking "are you sure you know what you're doing?"

Just a few weeks ago we were up on "the Peak", but not that high up. Pal 'o mine went pretty durn fast on Rampart Range and Gold Camp roads (aka. the place to dump bodies) all the while explaining why it's better for your car to drive fast over washboards. I told him I wouldn't be on those roads by myself or with anyone else driving. He said "I appreciate the vote of confidence". I said "I have more confidence in your driving than just about anything else".

What did you have to do to become acclimatized or do you live at high altitude? I know I was pretty winded just hiking on Mt. Rainier, but I had just come from sea level. Looks pretty dry. I suppose you did not need ice gear otherwise it would probably be in the photo.

Er, I rode the train. :blush: That took a little over an hour. There was no snow up there at all. It was about 45 degrees and windy, but that's it.
