Would you buy this sofa?

It folds out to become a Queen size bed. Fit for me, a real queen. :D

Kewl.

In theory.

It's $900 though.

And an Ikea product.

How does Ikea rate, to your experience?

Their stuff LOOKS somewhat cool... but I'm not keen on their lighting fixtures, made from plastic that came from milk cartons and/or acrylic that will turn yellow in 5 years' time...

Edit: Added linkiepoo

1. I love Ikea stuff!
If you are looking for good quality for lesser prices they are the way to go. MrG's cousin actually drove to PA for a bedroom set for his daughter. :hi:

3. THX!
definitely lesser prices!

With luck I'll have my job long enough to pay it back! (why not? If I don't, my parents can have it. :-) )

2. A real positive about IKEA furniture
is that they are PBDE-free. PBDEs are flame-retardant chemicals that have been shown to be accumulating in the environment and in our bodies. No studies on their effects on human health have come out yet, but it can't be good.

5. Check out a floor model
Comfort's important in a couch, especially one on which you and/or guests may be sleeping. If you're near a store, it'd be worth checking out. I've had good luck with Ikea stuff (for the price). $900-something isn't bad for a sofa that size, especially a comfy one, but some fabrics are way higher-maintenance than others, so that'd be something else to consider in keeping it looking good long-term.
