2. 3 cats, 1 goofy dog
Sometimes I get the feeling the dog wishes she were a cat too. (Yikes, a 60 lb cat!)

3. Here he is... Romeo the Chihuahua!
4 pounds, 5 years old

Our last dog was the sweetest Rottweiler ever. We swore we'd never get a small dog. But Romeo needed a home...

5. What a little cutie.
Good on you for giving him a home.

True chihuahua story. My grandmother's neighbor owned a chihuahua. He loved everybody in the neighborhood and they all loved him. One day a stray had a couple of the little girls cornered and was growling and snapping at them. The little guy came upon the scene. The other dog must have been 10 times his size but he threw himself at the bigger dog defending those little girls. He didn't survive but he gave them enough time to get away to safety. Whole lot of love and bravery packed into that tiny body. He was a Good Dog. :-)

(Eldest of 2). - And you're little guy is a cutie. I love big dogs, but I have to admit I've lost my heart once or twice to a little one. Chihuahau's can be so incredibly endearing.

4. I have
two cats and a dog.

I have a black cat named Eve, a calico named Brat and a rat terrier-Benjii mix named Rufus.

Eve is Rufus's chew toy as well as his snuggle partner. Brat is the matriarch and has nothing to do with either of the other two. She's above that don't you know!

Last mother's day Rufus snuck out of the house while we were grilling some hamburgers and was hit by a car. The vet initially thought he might lose his back leg but thankfully the surgery was successful. I spent 5 long weeks playing nurse to Ruf as he had to be kept immobile. We used a playpen and I handfed and watered him for 3 of those 5 weeks. I'm happy to report he has completely recovered and you can't tell anything ever happened to him. We can even joke abit by pretending to threaten him with paddling his thousand dollar butt when he acts out.

8. two cats, Rio and Layla...they are very smart!
Layla is trained to roll over and to sit up before she is fed...
Rio can also roll over but is too old and stubborn to do it most of the time! She has, however, been known to jump up and grab the pull chain for the hall light in her mouth and turn it on...she does not like to be in the dark *lol*
VERY smart kitties!

10. My beloved kitty and pooch have both passed on. But I have a
parrotlet named Loki that I just adore. I want another dog and cat but just can't seem to commit to getting them. It's been a long time since my cat passed away just a few years for my dog. I still really miss my dog.

11. Just birds.
We'd probably have a cat or two if we didn't have the birds.
But birds = cat food, especially tiny birds (one of ours is a pacific parrotlet).

29. Two cats, a dog...
A cockatiel that beats the dog up for fun, and three young male rats, one of which enjoys reaching out, grabbing and nibbling on the cat's tails while they're eating their kibble on the cat-tree (to keep the dog from eating their kibble) near the rat habitat.
There's a difference between rat grooming and rat nibbling - the tufts of black fur in the rat's mouth after such incidents tends to suggest that grooming is not the objective in that game...
Considering that the one cat almost goes out of his way to position his tail along the side of the cage when he eats, I'm pretty sure it's a game between the two, but we still keep an eye on the situation.

37. Pigs with fins
My kid has a couple of goldfish who are always begging. Even as I sit at the computer reading DU, they are positioned kitty-corner from the desk and eyeing me, as if I am always going to give them a handout.

But I like fish and when my life is less hectic, I'll spring for a mammal type, maybe a rabbit.
